Just 3 miles north of Port Orford is
the spectacularly beautiful and natural Elk River. With it's old
growth forests and emerald waters, this watershed is one of the
most pristine in the entire country. Also home to Oregon's most
successful Chinook Salmon hatchery. This river offers a nature
lover's paradise with swimming, fishing, boating, picnicking and
camping. The road along the river provides a perfect place to
take a long and leisurely bike ride too through some of the most
beautiful scenery and canyons anywhere!
